Producing a copy of a total film magazine cover

Original copy of total film magazine

The copy of the magazine I made

The original copy of the magazine uses a galazy theme that fits in with the title 'Jupiter ascending'. This theme then had to be recreated when I made my copy of the magazine.

I used adobe photoshop to recreate this film cover. I think the cover I produced is very similar to the original as I tried to keep them as similar as possible, however there were some parts which i found difficult, such as finding the same fonts and the same colours and images.

The background was difficult to find as i had to find a galaxy image that hasd the right amount of stars and similar colours but was not too bright as the original one is not. Finding the fonts was also difficult as the programme I used did not have all the fonts that I needed so I had to search further.

The photoshop software had many different tools  which helped me to recreate the magazine cover. Firstly the 'eyedropper tool' was really beneficial as it allowed me to drop it on a section of colour i wanted and it discovered which colour it was. This is something I did not know how to do before but after finding out how to do it I learnt how much more beneficial it was, especially when i wanted to make sure the colour I used was used througout the whole cover to make sure everything matched.
